LRT-1 is an urban railway line serving Metro Manila and parts of Parañaque. Officially known as Light Rail Transit Line 1, it connects Fernando Poe Jr. Station in Quezon City with Dr. Santos Station in Parañaque through major residential, commercial, government, and transport districts.
The railway is owned by the Light Rail Transit Authority and operated by Light Rail Manila Corporation under a long-term concession. Its 25 passenger stations provide connections to buses, jeepneys, taxis, ride-hailing services, shopping centers, schools, offices, and other railway lines.

Overview
LRT-1 follows a north–south corridor through Metro Manila, linking Fernando Poe Jr. Station with Dr. Santos Station. The line serves 25 stations, including five stations opened under the first phase of the Cavite Extension: Redemptorist–Aseana, MIA Road, PITX, Ninoy Aquino Avenue, and Dr. Santos.
Stations provide ticketing areas, automatic fare gates, security screening, passenger platforms, information signs, and access to surrounding roads and public transportation. Elevators, escalators, toilets, nursing areas, and other facilities are available at selected stations.
The line supports travel to business districts, government offices, universities, hospitals, shopping centers, airports, bus terminals, and residential communities. Passengers can transfer to LRT-2 through the connection between Doroteo Jose and Recto stations and to MRT-3 through the connection between EDSA and Taft Avenue stations.
Stations and Passenger Facilities
LRT-1 operates 25 elevated stations between Fernando Poe Jr. Station and Dr. Santos Station. Each station contains ticketing areas, automatic fare gates, security screening points, passenger platforms, directional signs, and access to surrounding roads and transport services.
Selected stations provide elevators, escalators, toilets, nursing areas, priority lanes, tactile guides, and facilities for passengers requiring additional assistance. Availability may differ by station because of maintenance or operating conditions.
Transfers to Other Railway Lines
Passengers can transfer between LRT-1 EDSA Station and MRT-3 Taft Avenue Station through a connecting walkway. The railway lines use separate paid areas, so passengers must exit one system and complete another fare transaction before entering the other.
LRT-1 Doroteo Jose Station is connected to LRT-2 Recto Station by an elevated walkway. Passengers must leave the LRT-1 paid area and enter LRT-2 using another ticket or fare-card transaction.
Connections at PITX
PITX Station provides direct access to the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange. Passengers can connect with provincial buses, city buses, modern jeepneys, taxis, ride-hailing vehicles, and other transport services operating from the terminal.
Tickets and Fare Payment
Passengers may purchase a Single Journey Ticket for one trip or use a stored-value beep card. Ticket vending machines and staffed counters are available at stations, although accepted coins, banknotes, and payment services may vary.
Passengers using a beep card should maintain enough balance to cover the complete journey. Stored-value cards may be reloaded at supported station machines, ticket counters, and authorized loading channels.
Passenger Discounts
Qualified senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and students may receive statutory or government-approved fare discounts. Passengers must present the required identification or use an eligible personalized fare card when applicable.
Operating Services
Trains operate daily between Fernando Poe Jr. Station and Dr. Santos Station. Service intervals vary according to passenger demand, available trains, maintenance activities, special schedules, and operating conditions.
First- and last-train times may change during holidays, scheduled maintenance, severe weather, and special events. Passengers traveling early in the morning or late in the evening should check current LRT-1 announcements before departure.
Passenger Rules and Security
Passengers and baggage are subject to security inspection before entering the paid area. Weapons, explosives, flammable substances, hazardous materials, and other prohibited items are not allowed inside stations or trains.
Travelers should keep station entrances, stairs, platforms, aisles, and train doors clear. Smoking, littering, damaging railway property, entering restricted areas, and activities that disturb or endanger other passengers are prohibited.
Getting to and From Stations
Buses and Jeepneys
Buses, jeepneys, and other public utility vehicles operate near most LRT-1 stations. Available routes connect nearby communities, commercial districts, transport terminals, and cities outside the railway corridor.
Taxis and Ride-Hailing Services
Taxis and ride-hailing vehicles may collect or drop off passengers near designated roadside areas, shopping centers, and transport bays. Pick-up arrangements depend on traffic restrictions and the road layout surrounding each station.
Airport Connections
MIA Road and Ninoy Aquino Avenue stations provide access to areas near Ninoy Aquino International Airport. Passengers continuing to an airport terminal must use an appropriate bus, taxi, ride-hailing vehicle, or private transfer because the railway stations are not located inside the terminal buildings.
